It is a collection of landscapes and corners of the eastern coast of Uruguay, and a little bit of south east Brazil, during my first backpacking trip by myself, in the summer of 2016. After a hunch to discover the worlds told by Kerouac, Krakauer, Thoreau, among others, I immersed himself in the list of world travelers stripped of the comforts and conveniences of a sedentary life. Suspicion and skepticism of an invasive modernity drove him to record through pencil and paper the starring beauty of nature in sparsely inhabited places. Átomos de Arena reflects our existential insignificance in a vast, beautiful and infinite universe.
